Terrified passengers flee jet after 'hole' found in engine (but plane takes off anyway)

Twenty-seven passengers abandoned a flight just before take-off from Moscow after noticing what they believed to be a hole in the engine.

The Boeing 737 was about to leave for the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk when the defect was reported to a member of the crew.

The captain thanked the eagle-eyed customer, but after a two-hour delay, the Transaero jet prepared to depart again - with the hole still uncovered.

Some terrified passengers then fled the plane, which completed its journey yesterday without incident. Read More
