Afghanistan Massacre Case: 'No Evidence'.....Except for 9 Slaughtered Children and 7 Slaughtered Adults

The lawyer for the US soldier being held over the killing of 16 Afghan civilians has said there is very little evidence against his client.

After a meeting with Staff Sergeant Robert Bales, John Henry Browne said: "There's no forensic evidence.

"There's no medical examiners evidence. There's no evidence about how many alleged victims or where those remains are.

"So it's fascinating from a defense lawyer's perspective. Prove it."

Asked if there was evidence of a crime, Browne replied, "I really don't know. Certainly from what I've read, there's very little."

Staff Sergeant Robert Bales is being held in a military detention centre in Kansas awaiting charges over the shooting in Kandahar on Tuesday, March 20. Read More
